🎧 How to Upload and Listen to Your Downloaded Audiobook

You’ve downloaded your audiobook files (MP3). Here’s how to get them onto your device and start listening right away.

📱 iPhone / iPad Instructions

Option 1: Apple Books with a computer

  1. Open iTunes on Windows or Finder on a Mac.

  2. Add your MP3 files:

    -In iTunes select File > Add to Library

    -On a Mac drag MP3s into Books

  3. (Optional) In iTunes, mark the files as Audiobook so they show up in the right section.

  4. Connect your iPhone or iPad.

  5. In iTunes or Finder, select your device, choose Audiobooks, check your book, then Sync.

  6. Open the Books app on your device and start listening.

Option 2: Use a player app without a computer

  • VLC Media Player (Free):

    1. Install VLC from the App Store.

    2. Save your MP3s to your device with the Files app, AirDrop, or a cloud service.

    3. Open VLC and select your audiobook files to play them.

  • MP3 Audiobook Player:

    1. Install from the App Store.

    2. Add MP3 files through the Files app or with File Sharing.

    3. You can then listen with features like bookmarks and speed control.

🤖 Android Devices

Option 1: Copy with USB and use an audiobook player

  1. Connect your phone to your computer with a USB cable.

  2. Set the phone to File Transfer mode.

  3. Copy your audiobook folder to /Audiobooks/ or another folder of your choice.

  4. Install Smart AudioBook Player (recommended) or Listen Audiobook Player from the Play Store.

  5. Open the app and set your root folder to where you copied the MP3s.

  6. Your audiobook will now appear and you can play it with bookmarks, speed control, and more.

Option 2: VLC for Android

  • Install VLC from the Play Store.

  • Open VLC, go to Browse, navigate to your audiobook folder, and press play.

🎧 Optional: Adding to Audible

If you would like to keep all of your audiobooks inside the Audible app, you can import MP3s using Audible’s desktop software.

  1. Download and install AudibleSync on Windows or use iTunes on a Mac.

  2. Add your MP3 files to your library.

  3. Connect your device and sync.

  4. Open the Audible app on your phone. Your imported audiobook will appear under Library > Titles > Non-Audible Content.

Note: This takes a few extra steps. For most people, apps like VLC or Smart AudioBook Player are quicker and easier.
